Rugby: Slaptjips Goes Back to School!

Paarl Gimnasium, looking to continue their quest to be the best rugby school in the country took a bold step in that direction this week as they appoint Pieter ‘Slaptjips’ Rossouw to be their new Director of Rugby.

Pieter Roussouw will take over the reins from Christoff Lötter who had a successful stint with the Paarl Gymnasium outfit.

Pieter will be assisted by Helmut Lehman, former Matie captain,Western Province player and Gymnasium Old Boy.

As a former Springbok, Western Province rugby player and assistant Blue Bull and Namibian coach, Pieter, an Gimmie Old Boy himself, Pieter Rossouw understands the values and tradition that Paarl Gymnasium Rugby holds dear and will be keen to re-establish Paarl Gim as one of the leading teams in the country.

He is passionate about making a contribution in the future development of rugby at his Alma Mater.

According to Mr Eddie Bateman, headmaster at Paarl Gymnasium, they are more than satisfied that the right appointment was made and believes that Pieter’s knowledge, vision and experience will make a huge contribution in taking Paarl Gymnasium rugby to the next level.

We wish him all the best for the 2016 season.
